I have always been drawn to music for unaccompanied violin. There is something deeply satisfying about creating complex harmonies on just four strings. People often associate the violin with beautiful melodies soaring above an accompaniment. Perhaps because of these associations, few composers have taken up the challenging task of writing works for violin alone. A completely unaccompanied recital is a special event indeed, and this repertoire is engaging, diverse, and very rewarding to perform. -Bella
